Ten years after the unforgettable Fireball World Championship held in 2001, the Yacht Club Bracciano Est (YCBE) will host the Fireball European Championship, The sun, warm winds, good food and friendly atmosphere are waiting for you!!! Celebrate the 50th year of Fireballing with the Italian Fireball fleet.
The welcome - The club offer plenty of parking of your boats, free parking of your cars near the club, changing rooms with hot showers, private beach with easy access to the lake, baby sitting service during the races, free pasta and beer at the end of each day, music and snack bar on the beach! In addition you will be offered the chance to leave your boats one week before and one week after the championship at the club and enjoy some days in Rome.
The Venue - Lake Bracciano is 35km north of Rome is dramatically set in a caldera with a surface of 22 square miles there is plenty of sailing area, with motorboats prohibited the lake is set aside for sailing and other watersports. Three towns border the lake, Bracciano, Anguillara Sabazia and Trevignano Romano offering plenty of eating and drinking places in the evenings.
The Sailing - Lake Bracciano is known for its afternoon thermal breezes which produce good sailing, with no need to get up to early, perfect! Expect a large and competitive fleet of Fireballs from across Europe and further afield.
Transport - With just over 2 months to the Europeans a few places remain available on boat trailers to take your boat out to the venue, The price is just £525 - but you need to sign up quickly! See the UK Fireball website for further details.
