National Champions Dave Wade (profiled in the latest Dinghy Sailing Magazine) and Ben McGrane were the lead Fireball in 38th position. A decent performance given conditions were described as evil, check out the photos! Dave was well beaten by his wife Jane, who was 2nd crewing a National 12.
Dave and Michelle Ryder were 87th. Other Fireballers out included Tom Jeffcoate in a Scorpion and Sam Mettam who embarrassingly had to sail a Bosun, managing 18th overall.
