With under a week to go before the start of International Week, there are now over 70 entries from 15 countries registered for the 2010 Fireball World Championships, including the latest entry from Japan. Competitors travelling from Europe are waiting anxiously to find out about flights due to the Icelandic volcanic activity. Contingency plans are in place, with Fireball International in close contact with the Barbados Government, to ensure those associated with the event will arrive in Barbados.
On the water the prevailing easterly trade winds, predicted to be between 12 and 20 knots, and warm temperatures will combine for superb sailing conditions. Racing will take place in Carlisle Bay, whilst on the western side of the Island there will still be some waves to play with! The traditional Fireball format is an international week regatta in the first week to get every one acclimatised, followed by the World Championships in the second week.

There will even be a special event Postage Stamp. The Barbados Postal Service will be producing a series of stamps to mark the 2010 Fireball World Championship. This is a huge accolade for the International Fireball Association!! The official launch for the stamps will be on April 23rd!
