News / Fireballs head to Hayling in 2016 National Champs

Hayling Island SC, which claims the fastest growing Fireball fleet in the UK, received a further boost with news that the Fireball National Championship will be held at HISC in August 2016.
The Fireball is on a roll with the 2015 National/World Championships at Pwllheli this August causing a surge of interest in the class.
Dates 11th to 14th August 2016
See the Hayling Island Sailing Club website for details about the club and the area.
The class World Championships in the UK this year will likely see a big entry to put the Fireball back in the 50+ club and the growing fleet at Hayling Island looks set to continue that trend.
It's over 20 years since the last Fireball Nationals were held at Hayling, but the venue goes back to the very first championship in 1963 when Dave Miles and Gerald Durbin (283) tied for the title with Bob Fisher and Dick Lonton (277).
The class will be visiting HISC for their Open Meeting on the 16 and 17 May 2015.
