News / Australians prepare for the 2011 Fireball Worlds

Australia’s representatives for the 2011 Fireball World Championship are Ben Schulz and Phillip Bowley from South Australia. This year the Fireball Worlds are being held at Sligo, Ireland and begin on June 11th.

Ben and Phil have been preparing for the Worlds by training at their home club of Adelaide S.C. At the 2010 Fireball Worlds in Barbados Ben and Phill were the top placed Australians and finished in a very creditable 5th position. They hope to continue to improve on this performance.

Ben and Phil will also be in Sligo to help promote the 2012 Fireball World Championship to be held in Mandurah, Western Australia.

It will be the first time the International Fireball class have held a World Championship in Western Australia. The Fireball committee have been working extremely hard to promote the class and their efforts have been rewarded with the re-establishment of the Western Australian Fireball fleet.
