As some of you will be aware, as well as Chips and Vyvo whipping everybody's arses for the umpteenth time, another important event occurred on the sun kissed Island of Barbados. - Chesney has finally decided after 14 years ( with the aid of several Bank's and even more Mount Gay ) to make an honest woman of Lesley.
Now this memorable event will be taking place on the 31st of July and as is traditional on occasions such as these, a few little drinkies are taken the week before . Fortunately this coincides very nicely with the finest open meeting of the year - Shoreham (24th / 25th July).
For those who have never been before - Shoreham is the friendliest club on the South Coast coupled with probably the best sailing water anywhere in England., but more importantly than that, it has a cheap bar, cheap tasty grub and is but a short distance from the bright lights of Brighton town - Perfect.
Now as you all know, Steve has devoted huge amounts of time and effort to promoting and running the Fireball class and is probably the best known face in the fireball fleet. So if at all possible, try and make the effort to make it to Shoreham and make it a great weekend for both Steve and the Fireball class by turning back the clock to days when 40 - 50 boats used to turn up for an open. So;
1. If you are coming to Shoreham great! see you there.
2. If you are unsure as to go to Shoreham or not - Go!
3. If you were not going to bother - Change your mind immediately!
I know how much it would mean to Steve to have you join him for a celebratory pint of 'nut brown ale'.
