"Welcome to the 2009 Fireball National Championships Website. Within these pages you will find information on the Championship, Accommodation and lots on information on off the water activities. This site will continue to be developed over the next few months. If you haven't already done so please register your details on the website making sure that you sign up to the Fireball mailing. That way you can get regular updates on all Fireball events. For those of you who have not been there it is simply a purpose built sailing venue. Excellent facilities, a new slipway has just been built ready for us next year. Virtually the whole fleet will be able to launch and recover at the same time. We have a new committee member in the form of Judy Greenhalgh who has already been down to the academy and organised a fantastic social calendar as well. We will also have at coach at the event who will be able to I look forward to seeing you in May at the waters edge, on the race course or even in the bar!" David Festing Chairman UK Fireball Association GBR 14999 An Earlier ChampionshipIn 2009 the UK Fireball National Championships will be running earlier in the Season than in previous years. The championships will run across the half term holiday week at the end of May from the 23rd - 29th. This is to avoid fixture congestion in the summer months with a two week European and World Championships being held in France in August. Last time the class visited Weymouth for its Nationals Championships it was for the successful 1997 World Championships which were also held at the end of May! In addition to the sailing there are lots off the activities to keep those who aren’t sailing amused and a busy evening social programme! |
