With a warm and sunny April now behind us, May brings plenty of Fireball events across the country. We have already had some great racing at the Northampton, Hayling Island and Brightlingsea open meetings. Hopefully now the weather is warmer more people will be venturing out. For all events this year we have been running simple event registration lists, this is not a formal entry list but simply an indication for the club, class and competitors of who is likely to be attending. So if you are planning to attend any of the events visit the relevant event page on the website and fill in the form, it literally takes only seconds. This system only works if people take time to fill things in. You can of course still turn up on the day! So whats on this month;
Penny and Ian Gibbs took the honours at their home club, report to follow. Results, Photos, Photos
We had hoped to run a one day training event and open meeting on the 14th and 15th. Unfortunately water levels at Ogston are quite low at the moment making running a training or an open meeting difficult. We will look to reschedule the training for a day or weekend later in the year!
The same weekend (14th/15th) sees the 1st event of the Southwest series at Castle Cove Sailing Club at Weymouth. Those lucky enough to sail at last years Weymouth Regatta will have experienced fantastic conditions. 3 races per day are planned sailing in the Weymouth bay. Event details
Somewhere new for the late May bank Holiday - that was the plan. Rock Sailing Club on the North Cornwall coast is the venue for the 3rd round of the Golden Dolphin Series (& South West series) A mix of racing formats is planned with racing in the Estuary on the Saturday afternoon and then racing in Padstow Bay on Sunday and Monday. A Bring your own BBQ is planned for the Saturday night at the club along with a meal on Sunday night. Its a great place to spend the bank holiday weekend .Event Details
