Damaged Fireball Trailer
Date Posted: 04 Jan 10 13:29
The tyre, on our combination fireball trailer (not sure if it is the original trailer? The boat is mid 80's), blew out in transit recently and we now require a replacement wheel hub/axle attachment. As the resultant impact caused the axle to bend.

The existing unit is bolted to the underside of trailer and would appear to be easily replaced...if we can find a spare fitting.

Does any know of / or own an old fireball combination trailer with an axle fitting that would they be prepared sell/donate?

Or are these axle units easily obtained elsewhere? Salvage for example?

I do have photos of the unit.... We would really appreciate some help on this.

Cheers

Is the roadbase a central spine with a roller at the rear which supports the boat (a Rapide) or is it an 'A' frame type (West Mersea)?

The trailer is an 'A-Frame' type. The damage is to the port side as the dinghy sits on the trailer.

It's probably fitted with Indespension units, check http://www.indespension.co.uk for you nearest stockist and they should be able to identify it for you.
