Container Spaces for Barbados Act Now!

If you are interested in an space in one the UK containers for the 2010 Fireball World Championships in Barbados, please act now!

Don't miss out on this fantastic opportunity. To date, we have filled two containers and we're well on the way to filling a third container. Deposits for container spaces are being received by our Treasurer, Wendy Wood.

The last few spaces will be allocated (when £200 deposit cheques are received) on a first-come, first-served basis. (Cheques should be made payable to UK Fireball Association and sent to Wendy Wood. 25 John Street, Shoreham-by-sea, West Sussex, BN43 5DL).

A final account will be calculated upon return, apportioned evenly between all boats in all UKFA containers. The balance will be collected at an appropriate date. We are benefiting from fantastic shipping rates courtesy of sponsor Geest. There will be additional expense items such as insurance, container framing and possibly some UK haulage costs but we expect the final cost per boat to come in under £300. Costs will be based on two-way travel - no discounts will provided where one-way transport only is used. Loading will be in early April.

We still have a few potential helms and crews interested in taking part looking for sailing partners.

As the Fireball World Championships will be held in Barbados for 2010, I would like to take the opportunity to introduce you to the Dover Beach Hotel. Club Info

Welcome to the Barbados Yacht Club, the first organisation formed to promote sailing in Barbados in 1924.

We are located on Carlisle Bay, about one mile south of the capital city of Bridgetown within the historic Garrison area. The bay is blessed with steady trade winds, calm waters and excellent beaches.

The Barbados Yacht Club sponsors a yearly racing programme and is a meeting place for its members and visiting yachtsmen.

he highlight of the season is the Mount Gay International Regatta which takes place in late May or early June.

Our facilities are also used for learn-to-sail instruction by the Barbados Sailing Association.

Visiting yachtsmen are welcomed and are given seven days complimentary membership on establishing their bona fides. View clubs with which we have reciprocal agreements.
